About this speaker

A former West Virginia University Mountaineer Football student-athlete, Kamara served as a graduate assistant with the 5th Quarter Program when he finished his playing career. In June of 2021 he became the Assistant Director of Player Relations. His role entailed assisting newcomers through the Bridge Program, supporting student-athletes with their transition to college at WVU.

 In January of 2022 Kamara was promoted to the Assoc. Director of Player Relations position, overseeing the launching of the football program’s job networking system. He conducted programming to aid student-athletes in establishing their personal brand, life skills, and mental health. He provided mentorship to student-athletes in the development of their leadership skills as they engaged with the athletics department, campus, and society as a whole.

In this role he also assisted with the scheduling of speakers, program planning, and securing resources for the student-athletes’ professional development in the 5th Quarter Program. He also built relationships with local employers to provide micro-internship opportunities for the student-athletes.

In January of 2023, Kamara joined Dan Lanning and The University of Oregon Football Staff as the Director of Player Development. Charged with establishing leadership development, professional development, career opportunities, community service initiatives, and the overall support and guidance of UO Football student-athletes. Kamara strives to ensure all student-athletes take full advantage of the opportunity, network, and resources The University of Oregon has to offer. He continues his role at Oregon going into the ‘24-’25 season.
